The world isn't lacking for exercise programs from trainers to the stars, promising life changing results. Here is another, with a forward written by Jay-Z no less. It's easy to take it in with underwhelming expectations, however, Power Moves is a book that deserves to be taken seriously for being the work of a straight-forward personal trainer with a refreshing approach to fitness.

Marco Borges comes to the table with a strength training program that includes advice on motivation, cardio, and nutrition. He comes across as likeable and enthusiastic as he details his own personal philosophy. Borges focuses on what he calls the four major joint groups: shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. All of his exercises are tailored to emphasize these key parts of body support. The exercises are demonstrated by Borges himself and clearly photographed in black and white with easy to follow instructions. His "No Excuses Workout" is challenging and requires no special equipment. Other workouts in the book involve props such as resistance bands and weights. Although not necessarily the best choice for a true fitness beginner, the message and exercises in this book are definitely powerful.
